Wonju DB of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) has bolstered their lineup for the upcoming 2024-25 season with the addition of 27-year-old USA-Nigerian center Chinanu Onuaku, who stands at 207cm tall and played collegiately at Louisville.
Onuaku returns to Wonju, where he previously competed, following a stint with Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rico's BSN league. In his recent six-game stretch, he averaged 8.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.
Drafted by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft (37th overall), Onuaku brings nine seasons of professional basketball experience to Wonju.
He has also represented the USA internationally, including stints with the Senior National Team in 2019 and the Under 19 National Team in 2015, as well as competing in the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers where he earned a Gold medal.
Throughout his career, Onuaku has played professionally across four continents—Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America—in ten different countries, including Croatia (Zadar), Israel (Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Hertzeliya), Italy (Sassari), and Spain (Joventut), among others.
