LAGOS, NIGERIA — With less than a week to tip-off, FIBA Africa Zone 3 (FAZ3) has officially unveiled the list of technical officials selected for the inaugural FAZ3 Academies Tournament, set to take place in Lagos from July 4 to 8, 2025.
In a statement signed by Mr. Idrissu Ayambire, Chairman of the Competitions and Technical Council, a total of 20 technical officials have been confirmed for the prestigious three-day tournament, which forms part of FIBA Africa’s ongoing efforts to develop young basketball talent across the sub-region.
The roster of appointed officials includes eight FIBA-licensed referees, one FIBA Zonal referee, two technical commissioners, five table officials, three statisticians, and a tournament director. The appointments were made with consideration for the tournament's demanding schedule, which will feature back-to-back games daily.
All officials are expected to report to the Tournament Director, Mr. Simon Evbuonmwan, in Lagos on July 4, 2025, ahead of the competition's opening day.
