Lobos Plateados de la BUAP (LNBP) have enlisted 33-year-old American power forward Maxie Kunle Esho for the 2024-25 season.
Esho, who also holds Nigerian citizenship, most recently played for the Saitama Broncos in Japan's B3 League. Across 48 games, he averaged an impressive 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, earning recognition as the League Player of the Week.
Maxi the son of Tina Esho and brother to Larry, Kenny, Taye, Florence, and Tony, brings a wealth of experience, having competed professionally across four continents and in fourteen countries.
His career highlights include a runner-up finish in the 2023 Japanese B League D3 season and selection to the Asia-Basket.com Saudi Arabian SBL All-Imports Team in 2022.
A graduate of the University of
Massachusetts in 2015, Esho embarks on his tenth season as a professional
player, having played for teams such as the Bandits in Canada, Bucaros in
Colombia, Etha in Cyprus, and various others in Israel, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia,
Taiwan, Uruguay, and in the NBA G League, Vietnam, and The Basketball
Tournament (Commonwealth).
